Do you have a particular area of interest or a particular element within the media that you would like to discuss on a regular basis? Do you have a critical eye that frequently notices areas of concern? Do you have an almost uncontrollable urge to discuss news, media, culture, society, politics, literature, music, photography, or art? Do you want to have your thoughts on media culture broadcast to as many people as possible? Are you an independent musician, writer, or filmmaker with an urge to share your work?
We are looking for educated and interesting individuals to contribute a regular segment to our podcasts and/or weblog. Members receive a POP e-mail account and a profile on our "Contributors" page, as well as server space in which they can store their files-in-progress. Unfortunately, because of the spirit of our organization, members are not paid: your contribution is strictly voluntary (see "About Us"). If this sounds okay to you, please go ahead and visit the "Sign Up" page, fill out the form, and get in touch.
We would prefer someone who can contribute about a five to ten minute audio segment or a 750 word essay at least monthly and at most once per week (podcast preferred). If you need a few tips on putting together an audio segment, please click here. If you need to know more about Culture-Cast.org, please look through the "About Us" section (menu above).
We are also interested in artistic submissions: independent artists of all stripes need an outlet for their work, and we hope to be one such outlet. You will retain all rights to your work outside of our one-time use thereof. We welcome poetry, film, radio-plays, music of all kinds, short stories, and more. If you are interested in sharing your work with our audience, please visit the Submissions Page for more information and guidelines related to submission. If we accept your work, you will be featured on our Contributors Page, with a brief bio and review of your work.
Please Contact us with any questions, comments, etc.

Audio Tips
To get started with podcasting, all you need is a computer with a microphone (built-in, USB, or input cable). If you don't have a microphone, you can purchase one that is adequate for a voice podcast for less than $20. There are several free applications available on the Web - for Mac users, we recommend Audio Recorder (Garage Band is a bit too heavy for a simple recording). For Windows or Linux users, we recommend Audacity.
When you have the software, go to your preferences and set your input to encode the file as either an MPEG-3 (.mp3) or MPEG-4 (.m4a) Audio (.wav is also acceptable, but it is quite lossy in translation to our editing software). Set your recording quality at 16 or 24 kbps mono (otherwise the file gets enormous). If you make a mistake when recording, ignore it, wait two seconds, and start two words back.
