Who We Are
We are a not-for-profit new media group dedicated to casting a critical eye on traditional media. We want to pause the news cycle where it needs to be so paused, to delve deeper into events, actions, histories, personalities, and the language that surrounds our issues of the day. We also want to provide a truly alternative outlet: to recommend and review music, art, literature, poetry, film, and other media that are missing from traditional media outlets (even alternative media misses some quality goods). There are few reviews or recommendations for books, music, poetry, films, and art that aren't current or "hot," despite their outstanding qualities.
We are different from other media: this isn't a closed system: we want your input. All of our contributors and site administrators are volunteers. We want you to send us your thoughts, text, audio, image. We want independent artists to submit quality material to us so that we can get the word out about their work.
What We Do
We try to fill the void, with your help, podcasting and blogging, addressing any and all of these issues. Our content is free to the public, licensed under the Creative Commons system. We are truly independent commentators. To learn more about our contributors and recent artists, please visit the contributors page. Thank you, and don't forget to subscribe to our RSS feed.
How to Help
We want you to contact us with questions, complaints, or intelligent contributions. If you pique our interest, we'll include your submission, perhaps even asking you to submit an audio discussion of it. For more information, we encourage you to visit the join us section of our site. If you are an artist and wish to have your work - literary, audio, or other - featured on the site, we have a guide discussing how you can contribute your work.
